Clown Corp LLC
Celebrating its second birthday in 2024, Clown Corp LLC is a decades old corporation from the 60s probably. We specialize in business, clowns, and business clowns. Clown Corp’s founding and only members are Julia Byrne, Nathan Ray, Tommy Sullivan-Lovett, and Jake Krakovsky, on a ceaseless quest for theatre that glorifies sex, violence, and laughter.
Clown Corp’s debut show BUSINESS DOING PLEASURE WITH YOU was awarded the Audience Choice Award in the 2022 Atlanta Fringe Festival. They continued partnering with Fringe in the Five/5ths of Ghostbusters fundraiser show with their opening section BUSTIN’ HARD OR HARDLY BUSTIN’. Their most recent production is the flagship project from Emory University Theater Studies Department’s Alumni Workshop, which creates opportunities for alumni to develop new work.
Meet the Team
-
Julia Byrne (she/they)
Julia is a Georgia native and multi-disciplinary artist. This is the last kind of theatre she thought she would make, and yet it brings her so so much joy. When not clowning, she writes plays about nature and hunger that have been produced far and wide. Check her out on the New Play Exchange!
-
Nathan Ray (he/him)
Nathan is an actor, director, and clown from Atlanta, Georgia. He enjoys directing Shakespeare plays, painting miniatures, and helping run the world’s most successful clown business
-
Tommy Sullican-Lovett (they/them)
Tommy is an actor and playwright from Portland, Oregon, mysteriously trapped in Atlanta since 2016. Their work usually focuses on queer storytelling and isolation, except when it focuses on clowns and sex.
-
Jake Krakovsky (he/they)
Jake is a theater-maker, educator, and Yiddishist from Atlanta, GA. They have been working professionally for over a decade as an actor, puppeteer, writer, director, dramaturg, teaching artist, and clown. As Clown Corp LLC’s beloved director, feared taskmaster, and Clown Papa™, he hopes you have fun. Or else!!!
